Nasonex
Nazonex and the treatment of allergies
Most of the products that prevent inflammations associated with allergy episodes are steroidal products. Steroids are medicines that inhibit the release of some chemicals responsible for the swelling, in this case swelling of tissues inside your nose or around your eyes. Nasonex is a remedy most appropriate for allergies that vary with the seasons of the year, such as problems triggered either by intense cold or by pollen, dust mites and so on.
Nazonex administration conditions
Nasonex is prescribed only for a set period of time, typically several weeks. if you prolong the usage beyond the period recommended by the doctor you risk some side effects – potentially some very serious ones. It may take a few weeks before you can actually feel all the benefits of this medication, which may make some users feel frustrated that, by the time they are getting the full effects of the medication, they have only a few weeks left to enjoy them. But don’t be discouraged by these statements. I said it ‘may’ take a few weeks to feel the full effects: many patients start to feel better in a matter of a few days.
Like other, similar, steroidal products, Nasonex reduces the body’s natural defenses, or what is generally known as the immune function. Therefore, you will be more vulnerable to infections and diseases than before using this medication. (That’s one of the reasons the medication is prescribed for specific periods of time, rather than for long-term use.) If you haven’t had smallpox or measles, so far, stay away from people who suffer from it; as it is very infectious and will cause possible complications for you.
At the completion of the Nasonex treatment, you will have to ask the doctor for other possible ways of keeping allergic reactions under control, and measures should be taken for establishing proper functioning of the immune system. Thus, it may be recommended that you take some natural supplements that increase body resistance to infections.
There are cases when you should not use Nasonex; such special warnings are usually targeting people with recent nose ulcerations or who have undergone some forms of surgical procedure. Inform the doctor if you are suffering from any infection before actually being prescribed Nazorex. If you’re not sure, the doctor may conduct some blood tests to evaluate your health status.
Special note on Nasonex side effects
- Go to the doctor immediately if you notice any worsening of your health condition, including breathing difficulty, congestion or frequent sneezing.
- Nose bleeding is a common but serious adverse reaction to Nasonex administration; contact your health care provider right away if you experience the problem.
- If you develop some form of infection during treatment with Nasonex you may have to cease taking the medicine right away since your health condition could degenerate drastically.
- Last but not least, the most dangerous reaction you could have to Nasonex is allergy – I mean an allergic reaction to the medication itself, not the kind of allergy that caused you to ask for this medicine to beging with. This kind of allergic reaction to medicines may easily lead to anaphylaxis, or ‘anaphylactive shock,’ which is a potentially DEADLY situation! Don’t hesitate to seek help if you experience face swelling, itching and skin redness.
