Symptoms of Allergies
Â
Symptoms Of Allergies Are often Similar – regardless of what causes it.
People are allergic to many different things, but the symptoms of allergies are often quite similar. People with allergies could have a reaction to different things, but react in the same way. One person could be allergic to gluten while another person is allergic to a certain fruit, but both people develop hives when exposed to the allergen. Symptoms of allergies can be just annoying, but some symptoms can be the sign of a fatal reaction.  Some people with allergies develop a rash when exposed to an allergen while other people who have eaten peanuts, for example, have died because they had an allergy to peanuts.Â
The symptoms of allergies appear to come in three degrees of severity. The milder symptoms of allergies are merely annoying to most people while severe symptoms of allergies could be life threatening. These symptoms vary from person to person. Mild symptoms of allergies include a rash, hives, itchy eyes and a feeling of congestion. These mild symptoms are located in an isolated area of the body. On the other hand, moderate symptoms include difficulty breathing and itchiness. Severe symptoms include cramps, diarrhea, vomiting and confusion. Severe symptoms could spread throughout the entire body. Severest of all is the reaction called anaphylaxis, or anaphylactic shock. This can kill you.
Symptoms Of Allergies Are Not Related To The Source Of The Allergies
Symptoms of allergies are not necessarily a clue to the source of the problem because often the symptoms of allergies are similar regardless of the source. People can be allergic to something and develop the symptoms. Previous to the onset of the symptoms of allergies a person could have been exposed to several allergens. Their symptoms are possibly a response to only one of those allergens. The person cannot know which of the allergens bothered them. Some people might be allergic to several allergens and many people with allergies have reactions to several different allergens.
The only way to really understand why the symptoms appeared is through tests done by a qualified professional. There are doctors who specialize in allergies, and these doctors can conduct a series of tests on people that will help them understand their allergies. These people can then take steps to avoid exposure to the allergens that bother them. These tests and the guidance of the specialist will help many people live with allergies. The doctors will not be able to rid the person of the allergies, but they will be able to identify the problems so the person can avoid the symptoms of allergies.Â
